Pastoral & Wellbeing

St Werburgh's and St Columba's School understand that each child is an individual and is treated as such. We know the importance of a safe, secure and welcoming school environment and in addition to spiritual wellbeing we also support our pupils' social and emotional wellbeing. Our in-house programme, Fred, which means peace in Swedish, is part of our PSHE and pastoral curriculum. We are very lucky that all of our pupils have access to our Fox's Den, an oasis in our busy school life.

Our Learning Mentors run programmes that help children to overcome issues that may hinder academic and social progress. These issues may range from low self image or esteem to friendship issues.

Our school firmly believes that the family is central to a happy and healthy experience at school. We know that sometimes life can throw challenges that mean our families may need help to either seek the right advice or simply have someone to talk to.

Fox's Den

We are lucky to have the Fox's Den in school, an oasis of calm.

The school community has access to this room where a range of activities happen which support the emotional wellbeing of our school.
