Year Group Curriculums

How did we design our curriculum?

We spent a considerable amount of time designing our curriculum discussing the needs of the community combined with extensive research. We dedicated staff CPD and staff
meetings to plan and develop the curriculum.

Our staff were given time to be creative and imaginative to develop a curriculum that is unique to our school whilst covering National Curriculum objectives. We asked our children what they wanted in their school curriculum along with all members of our school community. We looked at how our school context had changed, the needs of the pupils in our school, in our locality in the rapidly changing world that they live in. We endeavoured to develop a curriculum that meets the needs of allchildren in our school community.

As a diverse school community, we believe our children possess unique talents, skills and qualities. As such, they have the right to succeed, the right to recognise their own greatness and the right to develop who they are in a respectful and nurturing environment. Our school ethos is firmly rooted in our values with a love of learning and a caring inclusive approach to all members of our school community and wider world are the foundation of everything we do, so that we really are ‘Following in the footsteps of Jesus to love, learn and laugh.”
